Business Review West Michigan named the new Michigan Accelerator Fund I the 2010 Deal of the Year in West Michigan. Randy Thelen, president of Lakeshore Advantage in Holland-Zeeland has been named the Dealmaker of the Year for the region. Both will be honored at the black-tie event Oct. 22 at the JW Marriott in Grand Rapids. The Michigan Accelerator Fund I, managed by The Charter Group in Grand Rapids, plans to launch a $10 million venture capital fund that will target young companies in Michigan. Michigan Accelerator Fund I received $6 million in seed money from the state in August, aimed at spurring new home-grown investors who back Michigan-based startups that can create jobs and diversify the state’s economy.
