Middle market private equity M&A remained strong in Q4 2022, although not to the level of the historic highs from 2021. In Q4, 2,377 private equity deals closed for a combined value of $234 billion. Relative to the previous quarter, deal volume and value were up 4%. The continued availability of capital and a generally strong economy contributed to the market's positive performance.
