Furniture industry executives and the people who are advising them are watching the M&A reaction to KPS Capital Partners LP's recent $280 million acquisition of the assets of Furniture Brands International Inc. The acquisition signals that furniture makers may be M&A centerpieces again. Andrew Williams, vice president of business and transaction management at The Charter Group, said he's getting a lot of calls from potential acquirers and that contract furniture companies, which produce and sell furniture for commercial purposes, are in the driver's seat as sellers.
