Furniture industry executives and the people who are advising them are watching the M&A reaction to KPS Capital Partners LP's recent $280 million acquisition of the assets of Furniture Brands International Inc. The acquisition signals that furniture makers may be M&A centerpieces again. Andrew Williams, vice president of business and transaction management at The Charter Group, said he's getting a lot of calls from potential acquirers and that contract furniture companies, which produce and sell furniture for commercial purposes, are in the driver's seat as sellers. "The demand is high, supply is low," he said.
