Managing Director, Business Valuation Services

Christine Baker leads Charter’s valuation services practice. With more than 20 years of business valuation experience, she is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), a designation offered by the American Society of Appraisers, and holds an Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) credential by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Christine most recently practiced in New York City as a Managing Director of a boutique business valuation and litigation assistance firm. She has significant experience in performing and critiquing valuations of business interests in a conflict setting such as shareholder litigation and family law matters. Christine also specializes in preparing valuations for a variety of business planning purposes including, but not limited to, buy-sell agreements, estate, gift and other tax matters, sale and purchase of business interests, share-based compensation, partner buyouts, succession planning, and corporate and private equity valuation, among others.

Previously, Christine was firm-wide leader of the valuation practice of one of the largest accounting and consulting firms in the Great Lakes region. She has served for more than a decade on AICPA valuation services committees including the Business Valuation Committee and the Forensic and Valuation Services Executive Committee, being awarded Business Valuation Volunteer of the Year in 2006. She currently serves on the Certified in Financial Forensics Credential Committee. Chris is a frequent lecturer and leading professional education instructor, addressing professionals from a variety of national, regional, and local organizations regarding advanced valuation topics.

Christine has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Accounting Concentration, from Hope College.
